After the game he said, "I'm in a funk, and I've got to start making adjustments. I'm a better pitcher than this. It's not a good feeling to let the team down and to make the bullpen work their tails off to keep us in the game."
8/28/2008 11:28 AM (CT)
Kyle Kendrick (P-PHI)
Kyle Kendrick did his job on the mound but was let down by his bullpen. A day after warming up with 40+ pitches during the 13 inning game, Kendrick came out and pitched 5 strong innings. 8/28/2008 9:10 AM (CT)

8/28/2008 8:58 AM (CT)
Reggie Willits (OF-LAA)
The Angels activated Reggie Willits from the disabled list, clearing room for him on the roster by optioning Jason Bulger to Triple-A Salt Lake. Willits missed 16 games with post-concussive syndrome. He suffered a concussion when he collided with Gary Matthews Jr. in the Yankee Stadium outfield on August 3. He sustained a SECOND concussion six days later when he was tagged in the head by Yankees pitcher Brian Bruney while sliding headfirst into home at Angel Stadium.
8/28/2008 8:54 AM (CT)
Chone Figgins (3B-LAA)

He had gone 1-for-3 in the game to extend his hitting streak to seven games; he is batting .325 in his last 10 games, including a .391 clip during the current home stand. Earlier this season, Figgins missed a total of 33 games over two separate stints on the DL for a hamstring strain.

The win marked his fourth victory in his last four starts, during which he has hurled 29 innings with eight earned runs, seven walks, and 11 strikeouts. His 12th victory (and counting) of the season ties him for third place on the Twins' wins list for a rookie pitcher.
8/28/2008 8:43 AM (CT)
Aaron Hicks (OF-MIN)
The Twins' first-round pick Aaron Hicks performed well during his summer debut in the Gulf Coast League. In 45 games, he finished sixth in the league with a .900 OPS; he batted.318 with 18 extra-base hits and he had 12 steals. He also had a low strikeout rate (32 Ks in 173 at-bats over 45 games, compared to 28 walks).

8/27/2008 11:39 PM (CT)
